‘Charles Joly’ Lilac

Syringa vulgaris 10x10' Victor Lemoine et Fils intro, Nancy, France, 1896.

Purple buds and highly fragrant dark reddish-magenta double flowers on somewhat narrow 4–6” moderately loose panicles. Our notes call it a bright rosy-pink-purple. One of the best of all the reds. Lighter and redder than most of the standard varieties.

Narrow upright habit with some suckering. Z3. (1-3' bare-root plants)
