Fuel Service Apple Scionwood

This is a twig for grafting. Fall. Cammy Watts and John Bunker intro, 2015. Small (2") yellow bittersweet cider fruit sometimes with a faint blush. Medium juicy, medium crisp and high in tannins. Begins to oxidize moments after cutting or grinding. SG 1.062. Discovered on a fruit exploring mission in Hancock County, Maine, in the fall of 2015. The small roadside wild seedling tree was loaded and we had to stop. Boy were we happy. You will be, too. Fuel up with Fuel Service. Uncertain bloom time. Probably Z4-6.

Additional Information

The deadline for ordering scionwood is February 16, 2018, for shipment around March 12.

We sell scions (scionwood) in two ways.
Each single 8" stick will graft 3 or 4 trees, and comes with a small paper ID label.
Scionwood by the foot (minimum order of 10 feet) will usually graft about 6 or 8 trees from one foot of scionwood.
You can graft right away or store it for later use. Stored properly, it will keep quite well for several weeks.

Scions are twigs, not trees. They have no roots and will not grow if you plant them.
