The cancan dancers of the flower world, with their ruffled petticoats in a splendid panoply of colors, are making their entrance. Just the right pick-me-up after a drear mud season to put a little razzle-dazzle in your spring and early summer garden. Heart-shaped leaves on mounded 4–6" plants with heart shaped leaves are covered with 3" mostly bicolor flowers, with darker whiskers and yellow eyes to dress up their array—in lemonade, orange, raspberry, blue, yellows, and white. Just imagine these edible beauties on a salad. And they’re slightly fragrant too! Perennial in Zones 6-8. In a colder zone, increase the likelihood of plants overwintering by covering them with a straw mulch. ⑤
