Malus spp.
Fall.

Wild tree discovered by Sean Turley in the Weskeag Marsh of Thomaston, ME, 2022. A suspected seedling (cub) of Wolf River, as a stand of old grafted trees is just up the hill.

Very large roundish-oblate fruit with thick smooth yellow skin is washed with a pink blush. This tasty dessert apple is much more flavorful than its presumed parent. Coarse golden flesh is sweet and aromatic with hints of citrus and melon. Great for fresh eating and cooking. Ripens in early October in coastal Maine.

The mother tree displayed natural disease resistance, and we are now trialing it grafted in an orchard setting. Blooms midseason. Z4.

(Standard: 3–6' bare-root trees)
