Perennial to Zone 4. Also known as Prairie Flax. Single light-blue flowers and finely cut foliage for borders or rock gardens. New flowers open every morning all summer, fade in afternoon heat. 

Likes full sun. Very drought tolerant. 9–12". 

Start indoors in a cool place 6–8 weeks before setting out or direct seed in cool soil in spring or fall. Native to western North America. About 530 seeds/g.

Saving Flower Seeds Is Easy!

Almost all the flowers we list are open- pollinated and easy to save seed from. Some types cross readily, but who cares! Save the seeds, plant them, and be surprised.

These flowers are especially easy to save seed from: bachelor’s buttons, calendula, cerinthe, cosmos, love-in-a- mist (nigella), nasturtium, poppy, strawflower, sunflower, sweet pea and tithonia.

From early May through mid-December, items shipping from our garden seeds warehouse ship twice a week, usually Tuesday and Thursday. For quickest turnaround time order online by noon Monday or Wednesday.
