Waneta Hybrid PlumMidsummer. (Prunus salicina Apple x Prunus americana Terry) NE Hansen intro, SD Exp Stn, 1913.
Released when hybrid plums were an important and commercially viable crop. Named after a Yanktonai youth who won fame in the War of 1812 and later became a great chief.
