Upright terminal white flower panicles 6–8" long are comprised of showy sterile flowers and smaller fertile flowers. Elegant blooms July-September are fantastic fresh or dried and develop a pinkish blush with cooling temperatures.
Blooms on current season’s growth so can be pruned in late winter or early spring. Reducing the number of shoots will increase flower size.
Vigorous plants like rich moist well-drained soil and thrive in full sun to partial shade. H. paniculata is one of the hardiest hydrangea species. Easy to grow. Native to Asia. Z3. (1-3' bare-root trees)
