Mesabi Pie Cherry

Prunus cerasus Summer. Bing x chance seedling. Duluth, Minn., 1964.

Red skin and lighter red flesh with clear juice. Bing parentage makes it sweeter than other Montmorency types. Recommended for sauce and pies.

We became very curious about Mesabi when we heard reports of 20-year-old trees in Maine remaining healthy and productive. In trials our trees have been productive, healthy and with no winter dieback. They have also remained entirely disease free. Naturally dwarf-sized tree will grow to about 10–14'. Z4. Maine Grown. (2½–6' grafted bare-root trees)
