Monarda3-4' tall. Fabulous blooms in a mysterious array of colors. Our grower suspects these are Panorama Mix but cannot guarantee it. They definitely have the coarser leaf texture of M. didyma (as opposed to M. fistulosa) and the flower color and size of blooms are typical of the Panorama series. Colors range from light pink, bright pink, lavender, salmon to magenta.
Wild and wily flowers with tubular petals on pincushion heads are borne above colorful bracts in July and August. Aromatic foliage. Delicious used as tea or added to meat and bean dishes. Destined to attract scads of butterflies and hummingbirds for your cats and kids to chase in vain. One of the best hummingbird magnets nature has to offer!
Good for borders, for wet areas and for cutting. Plant 16-20" apart in light shade in moist soil. Thrives in full sun if given adequate moisture or mulched with leaf mold; tolerates most conditions. Z3. Maine Grown. (bare-root crowns)
