‘Scabrosa’ Rose

Rosa rugosa 5-6' x same. Harkness intro, UK, 1950. Also called Rosa superba.

The epitome of the old-fashioned straight rugosa rose with all the excellent rugosa qualities to the max. One of the absolute best roses for the edible landscape.

Sweetly scented very large single deep pink flowers and huge orange-red hips almost as big as cherry tomatoes. Showy yellow stamens. Recurrent bloomer.

No frills, no bells, no whistles. Just beautiful flowers and large hips. Large dense hedge-forming shrub with glossy green leaves. Good fall foliage color. Extremely hardy and disease resistant. Z3. (9-18" bare-root plants)
