Opalescent Apple

Fall. Ohio, 1899.

Highly flavored dessert apple for the connoisseur. Biting into the very large brilliant deep red fruit will bathe your tongue with flavor. Crisp, sweet, tart, juicy—but most of all it’s supremely flavorful.

Although considered to be a good cooking apple as well, we find that it’s best as a dessert fruit. Every so often we meet someone who knows Opalescent and all agree: it’s got great flavor.

Likely at its best from Massachusetts north. Will keep till mid-late winter. Blooms midseason. Z4-6. Maine Grown. (Standard: 3-6' bare-root trees)
