Medium-large roundish oblate pale yellow fruit with the occasional blush. Fine-textured, juicy, sweet and very little acidity. Recommended for cooking and cider. This is one of the apples rediscovered by the late Russell Libby, longtime fruit explorer and beloved director of MOFGA. Identified by John Bunker, who collected scionwood. The old tree may now be gone, but we’re keeping Munson Sweet alive at the Maine Heritage Orchard and elsewhere. Blooms late. Z4.
