‘Minuet’ Lilac

Syringa x tribrida 6-8 x 4-6' (S. x josiflexa Red Wine) x (S. x prestoniae Donald Wyman) William Cumming intro, Morden Arboretum, Manitoba, Canada, 1972.

Low-growing compacät dwarf lilac with single rosy-pink blooms. Unlike the typical heart-shaped lilac foliage, Minuet’s leaves are oval and dark green. Highly disease and pest resistant. This has Preston heritage, so it blooms a month after the common lilacs have come and gone. Z3. (1–3')

Lilacs

Plant in a sunny (at least 6 hours of sunlight each day) well-drained location in moderately rich soil; sandy gravelly loam is perfect. Pink, lavender and blue lilacs color up best in soil with a neutral pH. Spacing depends on your plan; lilacs perform well as hedges as well as specimens.
