Early Ohio tan skin, white flesh The porcelain doll of spuds. Try it for a high-yielding early white potato. For pounds of tubers per row foot, with potatoes reaching three quarters of a pound, Early Ohio's a must. Oval and flattened, often with a light pink rouge around the eyes, and hardy during the cleaning process. Heirloom classic and a smart choice for the gardener or market farmer. Its other names, Prize and Royal Gem, though now barely used, more adequately describe the merits of this blue-ribbon winner. A favorite in trials done by NOFA-NY, it was chosen for its beauty and poise in the kitchen.
