Augusta yellow skin with pink eyes, gold flesh Great for high tunnel and early season production. Elegant pink-shadowed eyes and deliciously smooth performance in the kitchen. Flesh tends to stay meaty, not mealy, with the perfect flavor and consistency for au gratin, fries or a good old-fashioned mash. Tubers tend to be blemish-free and plentiful, and with their characteristic hardiness they’ll give Yukon Gold a run for its money in the golden-flesh category. Augusta is currently protected under the Plant Variety Protection Act, so we don’t have free choice over who grows this seed stock for us. Seed from Aroostook County. PVP.

We are Certified Organic Handlers

Moose Tubers, as part of Fedco Seeds, is a certified organic handler. Our organic seed is certified by USDA-approved agencies. We have copies on file of each grower’s certificate; our products are labeled accordingly and handled in ways to ensure their integrity.

The printout you receive with your order has our certification number and is your receipt and certificate that what you purchased is organic. Please keep it for your records.

We are handling live plant material. We sometimes have short crops and failed lots. We do occasionally substitute conventional varieties unless you note otherwise. Please see our substitution policy.

PVP

PVP stands for the Plant Variety Protection Act; the variety is patented. Instituted in 1970, the PVPA allows exclusive commercial selling rights to the recipient of the protection. These intellectual property rights are qualified by four characteristics: the variety’s newness, distinctiveness, uniformity, and genetic stability. Recipients of the protection can allow select growers to reproduce stock and sell it commercially if they choose. The use of PVP in Fedco’s catalog is for informational purposes only and in no way constitutes an endorsement of seed patenting.
